Homemade Microwavable Popcorn

I found the article in a newsletter I’m subscribed to: Homemade Microwavable Popcorn ~ with Flavors Too!. What’s great about it is that I’ve always wanted some good flavors to go with the popcorn, besides just the traditional butter falvor…Now, this should be fun to experiement with.

Dave, have you had a chance to try this homemade microwave popcorn yet? It sounds appealing, but for some reason I don’t want to be the guinea pig trying it out first. I can’t say that I’m afraid of blowing up my microwave, but then again, maybe I am.

As far as store-bought microwave popcorn goes, when Brett and I really want to treat ourselves we splurge on the Orville Redenbacher pour-over cheddar popcorn. So bad, but oh-so good!

I have tried it, and liked it. We did notice that cooking a lot does wear out the microwave and you have to lay off for a while before doing it again. Otherwise the length of time it takes to cook the same amount of popcorn increases dramatically.

We also got some of the popcorn cheeses, but I prefer just the plain popcorn with a bit of cajun spices mixed in.
