Here’s how to update to cupcake if you cannot wait for the OTA release from TMobile.
- Download the following URL: https://android.clients.google.com/updates/partner/signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip
- Rename the download to update.zip on the SD card, and then power off the phone
- Hold the Power and the Home buttons until you see a triangle on the screen
- Type in Alt-L and Alt-S and wait for the system to update.
- Enjoy the new cupcake version of Android.
Looks like I now have some work to do to update Scriptures to the new version.
yes, but did you actually do this? i’ve read a few different instruction pages and they all say basically the same thing but differ slightly in the details. some says “DO NOT add the .zip extension” for example. Others say “after you update, make sure to turn off and then turn back on the sync button”, etc.. etc.. ?
I followed the steps as listed and it works as advertised.
i just followed them myself and had no problems whatsoever. I love the new 1.5 build, and i’ve only been using it for 5 minutes. Thanks for the instructions.
