Here’s how to update to cupcake if you cannot wait for the OTA release from TMobile.

Download the following URL: https://android.clients.google.com/updates/partner/signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip
Rename the download to update.zip on the SD card, and then power off the phone
Hold the Power and the Home buttons until you see a triangle on the screen
Type in Alt-L and Alt-S and wait for the system to update.
Enjoy the new cupcake version of Android.

Looks like I now have some work to do to update Scriptures to the new version.

Conference painting project

During conference this year I decided to paint a couple miniatures. So, for about a total of 8 hours I managed to crank out two warjacks from Warmachine. I’m not happy with the pictures themselves, and the pictures showed me a couple blemishes I missed (because they were really small), but overall, I’m happy. Two ‘jacks in 8 hours is good for me.

The LEGO Digital Designer lets you create your own sets and then, if you want, you can actually order them for yourself as well. Pretty cool stuff.

O.A. Crud

Here is the recipe for the O.A. Crud. Essentially its a healthier version of a dump cake…healthier because it doesn’t use any butter, but that’s about it. Other than that, it’s the same.

Line a 10″ Dutch oven with foil and place, in the following order,

10 oz applesauce

8 oz crushed pineapple

1 white cake mix

1 can pie topping (any flavor)

1 small box of Jello (any flavor, that goes with the pie filling)

Don’t stir it, Cook until the cake mix is no longer powdery

John’s Background Switcher

I like a good background wallpaper on my computer. Unfortunatly I also get tired of the same one after a while and have to switch it up. Then there’s the problem of finding some new ones. Well, I found an app today that looks like it will solve those winter wallpaper dulldrums: John’s Background Switcher.

I’ve just given it a whirl and it looks good. One of the best things about it: The option to switch the wallpaper and then quit so it doesn’t bog the system down running the whole day.
